Jennifer Rose Lilly was born in Beckley, WV. At the age of 5 she moved to Denver, NC twenty minutes from Charlotte. She started playing guitar at 12 years old. She played by ear and enjoyed attending bluegrass shows of her favorite artists Jim and Jesse, The Lewis Family and several others. Jennifer also has strong music influences in country and rock. In 2001 she moved back to WV where she currently lives. That same year Jennifer started touring with Bluegrass Hall of Fame Inductees her Grandfather Everett Lilly and her Great Uncle Bea Lilly "The Lilly Brothers" and after a few years started her own band "Firing Line." The group name coming from a favorite Carter Family song "Keep on the Firing Line." She has performed with Hee Haw cast member Roni Stoneman, Melvin Goins, Legendary banjo player Bill Keith and Buddy Griffin who has worked with her for years. Buddy has performed on The Grand Ole Opry hundreds of times with artists Mother Maybelle Carter, Jim and Jesse, The Osborne Brothers, just to name a few. Jennifer's musical influences are Gillian Welch, Emmylou Harris and Wendy Holcombe who is the sister of Jennifer's Godmother. Wendy passed away at age 23 in 1987.
